ARDEN HOME REMODEL

When the Allen family bought their home, they knew they were buying to renovate — especially because the home hadn’t been touched since the 60’s (rotary phone still included). Thanks to some friends passing along a list of builders, Emergent Construction became one of the Allens’ contenders for this full-home renovation. But, what won their business? Offering everything, design through build.

And when it came time to get the process started in the fall of 2022 , the Allens had lived in the home for a few months already — giving them a definitive idea of how they wanted the home to function and a list of must-haves. From a coffee bar and formal dining room to panel-ready appliances and bold lighting choices, the Allens knew what they wanted, and knew they wanted to be involved in the design process. They just needed our team of experts to guide them, find materials, and execute the details.

Over the course of a few months, the design was honed in, selective demo took place, and the scene was set for construction to start in April 2023 , with a timeline of four months to project completion. From reorienting the entire kitchen and knocking down brick on the sunroom fireplace to a tucked-in shower in the primary bath and high-end touches all around the home, this was a serious transformation.

“Emergent was so organized — from using Buildertrend and sticking to the schedule. They let us be a part of the materials selections and gave us deadlines, which was so helpful. It felt like everything always kept moving. We even had neighbors comment that they were impressed that someone was at the house working everyday.”

While the old home came with challenges (like the outdated electrical), the project went really smoothly and stayed on track. The Allens’ distinct vision, Lori’s attention to detail, Austin’s cabinet designs and the team’s project oversight came together to create a space that doesn’t feel like an out-of-place remodel. Everything was thought of together, and it was such a fun project to complete.

“It feels like our home … it feels like us. We accomplished our goal to put a modern design in an old home, and it’s a layout that works so well for our family.”
